Reading the results

Rows separate loans, requests, self-reported use and non-use, and participation in organised trials or a simulated cinema. Units and populations differ, so these figures cannot be pooled into a technology adoption rate. Manufacturer accounts identify the maker, survey rows retain funding and sample limits, and missing periods remain explicit. (Listen Technologies 2023; Rehabilitation Engineering Research… 2013; RNID 2026; Starkey Laboratories 2022)

The CCAA frequency counts use the stated substantive-response bases; their always-or-usually aggregates overlap the individual categories. Multiple-selection location figures also overlap. A parish with no confirmed Auracast users has not measured zero listening. Read each measure, period and limitation before comparing rows. (Committee for Communication Access in… 2023; Committee for Communication Access in… 2024; Anovum 2025; Bluetooth n.d.)

Codebook

usage_id

Stable identifier for the individual figure or response category.

venue_or_survey

Named venue, survey or trial. Repeated names usually share participants or observations.

country

Setting or recruitment geography; explicitly unknown where the source does not establish it.

system

Receiving path actually supported by the evidence. An unspecified receiver is not assigned to FM, infrared or another technology.

measure

What is counted, including the response category and whether a zero concerns confirmed users.

value

Reported number, lower endpoint of a reported range, or explicitly identified calculated aggregate.

value_max

Upper endpoint when the source gives a range; otherwise empty. A range of reported averages is not a confidence interval.

unit

Percent, respondents, respondents selecting an option, participants, people, devices per performance, requests per night or trial sessions.

numerator

Count supporting a calculated percentage; populated for the three CCAA always-or-usually aggregates only.

denominator

Item or subgroup base where established. It is not necessarily total survey size or venue attendance.

population

Sample size, eligibility, exclusions and relevant venue context.

period

Fieldwork or use interval, with missing dates left explicit.

period_basis

Distinguishes fieldwork, follow-up interval, survey edition and publication-only context.

evidence_type

Venue account, Self-reported survey, Second-hand survey, Supported field trial or Simulated venue study.

value_basis

Reported value, calculated percentage/remainder, or a verbal zero encoded numerically.

funding_detail

Funding and producer context retained from the earlier compilation; the funding column carries the current source-record labels.

source_id

Library source identifiers supporting the row, separated by semicolons. Feature-specific and supporting-source columns retain their more precise roles.

supporting_source_ids

Additional library ids supporting context, separated by ; ; empty if none.

source_locator

Original page, section, table or model entry supporting the row; source names identify locations when several originals are used.

limitations

Row-specific interpretation limits and source-record reading limits. Missing information is not reported, never an inferred zero.

checked_date

Date the archived evidence was read for this compilation, not a new retrieval date.

funding

Source-record funding labels. With multiple primary sources, each label is followed by its source id in brackets. Funding detail remains in funding_detail where supplied by the earlier compilation.

Compilation and interpretation

venue-usage.csv was compiled on 2026-10-13 for q48. Its 47 rows cite 12 existing source records, checked against the private archived originals. It separates reported venue loans and requests, survey use and non-use, supported field trials, and a simulated cinema study. No new source records or question summaries were needed.

The CSV is UTF-8, comma-delimited, fully quoted, with a header and LF line endings. Numeric cells use a decimal point and no unit suffix. Percent values use the 0-100 scale, so 54.5 means 54.5%. Empty numeric cells mean unavailable or inapplicable, never zero. Values are static, with no formulas. Rows are grouped by source and related measure; no ranking is implied.

For CCAA Q20-Q22, the five frequency categories retain their published counts and use substantive-response bases of 961, 880 and 719. Exclusions are recorded in population: 366 not applicable; 432 without telecoils; and 424 without telecoils plus 166 who visit no looped venue, respectively. The always-or-usually percentages are calculated as 100 times the sum of those two categories divided by the stated base, rounded to a whole percent. These three aggregates overlap the category rows. The loop report's 69% label says always, but the charts support always or usually; always alone is 367 of 719. (Committee for Communication Access in… 2023; Committee for Communication Access in… 2024)

CCAA Q12 retains all 1,328 item answers as its base, including 519 not applicable, and overlapping choices are not summed into unique users. EuroTrak retains the printed location-chart base of 68 and weighted percentages without inventing respondent counts. Its education-setting item does not isolate venue equipment from personal or classroom use. Harkins and Tucker's borrower count is retained without reconstructing its unresolved recent-user percentage. (Committee for Communication Access in… 2023; Anovum 2025; Harkins and Tucker 2007)

Do not pool these rows into an adoption rate. Lutcher's requests are distinct from fulfilled loans and its seat capacity is not actual attendance. Trial participants and sessions measure organised testing. Saint Gilbert's zero counts confirmed users known to the parish, while Bethel's zero is an account of non-use of its former FM system; neither supplies a log-based rate. The New Mexico percentages remain explicitly second-hand. No quantified app-session total was found in the sources reviewed for this compilation. (Listen Technologies 2023; RNID 2026; La Trobe University 2026; Bluetooth n.d.; Bluetooth n.d.; Sterkens 2019)

The q48 research report documents search coverage, exclusions, archive reading limits and existing-record concerns. Source publication dates shown by the data-page build are separate from the usage periods in this CSV.
