Reading the results

Each row identifies a named model, style or family from the library’s device evidence. Read the individual feature dates and notes: a family-level statement does not establish support in every style or firmware version. Ready, enabled and announced describe different source assertions. An empty support value means unresolved or unestablished, never no. External accessories are separate from built-in support. Manufacturer statements and advocacy lists retain their source context. The first refresh on 2026-10-14 re-read all 117 rows against the 11 cited records and their archived originals fetched on 2026-10-13. last_checked records that editorial check, including unresolved entries. It does not establish that a promised update has shipped. No live pages were fetched for this refresh; the feature evidence dates below remain unchanged.

Codebook

maker

Maker or marketed brand as identified by the source. Retail/private-label brands are retained; this column does not assert corporate ownership.

model

Named model or style. Explicitly enumerated styles have separate rows. Source wildcards such as SERx64-DRW remain wildcards.

model_scope

model for a named model/style; family when the source gives only a product line or an unresolved grouping. A family row does not establish support for every style.

device_type

hearing aid, cochlear implant, bone conduction, or earbud. Implant rows describe the external processor's reception, not the implanted component.

telecoil

Built-in telecoil: yes, no, or optional. optional means a custom-order option or availability in only some styles of an unsplit family. See missing values and accessory routes below.

auracast

Built-in broadcast reception: ready, enabled, announced, or no, with definitions below.

status_date

Latest evidence date used for the row's identity or either support value. It is not a launch date, firmware release date or assurance that both features were rechecked that day.

last_checked

Date (YYYY-MM-DD) the editor re-read the row's cited records and archived originals, including notes and conflicts. This is a source check, not a new source snapshot, firmware test or confirmation of present availability. Evidence dates stay unchanged unless the supporting evidence changes.

identity_source_ids

Evidence for maker, model, scope and device type. Names and style expansion are editorial normalization of these sources.

telecoil_source_ids

Evidence for the populated telecoil value; empty when the value is unresolved.

auracast_source_ids

Evidence for the populated Auracast value; empty when the value is unresolved.

status_date_source_ids

Sources establishing status_date, using the document/snapshot dates in the table below.

telecoil_status_date

Date of evidence for the telecoil value, or empty when unresolved.

auracast_status_date

Date of evidence for the Auracast value, or empty when unresolved.

notes

Style restrictions, accessory routes, source conflicts, naming limitations and joining dependencies. These qualify the categorical values.

notes_source_ids

Sources supporting those qualifications, including evidence of conflicts where a value is blank.

source_id

Library source identifiers supporting the row, separated by semicolons. Feature-specific and supporting-source columns retain their more precise roles.

source_locator

Original page, section, table or model entry supporting the row; source names identify locations when several originals are used.

funding

Source-record funding labels. With multiple primary sources, each label is followed by its source id in brackets. Funding detail remains in funding_detail where supplied by the earlier compilation.

limitations

Row-specific interpretation limits and source-record reading limits. Missing information is not reported, never an inferred zero.

Compilation and interpretation

device-support.csv was compiled on 2026-10-13 from existing library records and their private archived originals. It contains 117 rows. It covers the named devices and styles in the two device lists below, supplemented by implant guidance and manufacturer material already in the library. It is not an inventory of every device on the market or a current compatibility test.

The CSV is UTF-8, comma-delimited, with one header row. Multi-source cells use semicolons. Source ids resolve to content/sources/<id>.md; they are stored without citation markup. For prose citations use the library's source identifiers notation.

Value definitions and missing evidence

• ready: the source explicitly uses ready, or describes present LE Audio hardware with an enabling update still pending. It does not establish working reception. CHA defines ready and enabled separately (Center for Hearing Access 2026).
• enabled: the source describes present broadcast reception, or Pro Audito labels it Fähig (capable). This is a dated source assertion. It is not evidence that every transmitter, phone, firmware version or market works (Pro Audito Schweiz 2026; ReSound n.d.; Samsung Electronics America n.d.).
• announced: reserved for an explicit future feature announcement without evidence of present ready hardware. No selected row needs this value; the selected pending products are described as ready (Center for Hearing Access 2026; Pro Audito Schweiz 2026).
• no: the source explicitly says the feature is absent, or explicitly locates the telecoil outside the processor, as CHA does for SONNET 3. Merely describing an accessory route does not establish absence of built-in support. The MED-EL article describes external Auracast reception without explicitly ruling out built-in reception, so those Auracast values are empty. Notes preserve the supported accessory routes (MED-EL 2025; Center for Hearing Access n.d.; Pro Audito Schweiz 2026).
• An empty value means not established or unresolved, never no. The related value-source and value-date cells are also empty. Notes identify the gap or conflicting sources. In particular, membership in CHA's telecoil-only section does not establish the absence of Auracast; membership in its dual-connectivity section without a model-specific state does not resolve ready versus enabled (Center for Hearing Access 2026).

Accessory guidance leaves the built-in telecoil value empty for Kanso, Baha 6, Baha 7, Osia 3 and RONDO 3: these sources describe a route without separately establishing hardware absence. SONNET 3 differs because CHA explicitly places its telecoil in an accessory, alongside SONNET 2's coil in the instrument. optional never means an external accessory. Selecting or programming a built-in telecoil does not make it optional (Center for Hearing Access n.d.; Pro Audito Schweiz 2026).

Dates of the lists and other evidence

All cited originals were read from the private archive at compilation on 2026-10-13 and re-read on 2026-10-14. The archive's source.txt records direct retrieval on 2026-10-13. The document dates below are preserved even when they are older. For an undated page, the table uses the archived snapshot's retrieval date, not an invented publication date. The later last_checked date does not replace that snapshot date. No live refresh was performed.

Reading and updating the table

Use the individual feature dates alongside the row date. last_checked records the compilation or refresh check separately: all rows initially use the current compilation date, 2026-10-13. Adding this column on 2026-10-14 did not refresh the source evidence. A later refresh sets last_checked even if neither feature value changes. For example, a recent undated manufacturer page about Auracast does not refresh a telecoil finding from the August list. Manufacturer statements are identified above and in the applicable notes; advocacy lists are not manufacturer verification.

Names retain the source's granularity. Promotional suffixes are omitted from some labels to follow the repository's wording rules; the two Widex generations are distinguished by year and the newer model's Clarity Boost descriptor. N7 and N8 are expanded to Nucleus 7 and Nucleus 8. The Philips brand spelling follows Pro Audito. Some source names may be aliases or imprecise groupings, so row counts must not be presented as a count of distinct products available to purchase (Center for Hearing Access 2026; Pro Audito Schweiz 2026; Widex n.d.).

Several style rows combine CHA's named dual-connectivity entries with a family-level capable or enabled assertion from Pro Audito or Manufacturer ReSound. Their notes identify that combination; it is not a style-specific firmware check. The Auracast feature date remains the date of the capable or enabled assertion, even when CHA's style listing is newer. Kanso, Nucleus Nexa and Audéo EON are family entries because their sources do not resolve a generation or processor style, or enumerate hearing-aid styles (Center for Hearing Access 2026; Pro Audito Schweiz 2026; ReSound n.d.; Center for Hearing Access n.d.; Roh 2026).

Kanso 3's telecoil location remains unresolved: the Swiss list says yes, while the manufacturer's specification lists no telecoil feature. The specification's silence is insufficient to code no. Starkey's ITE rows also remain unresolved because the two lists differ about which styles have a built-in telecoil (Pro Audito Schweiz 2026; Cochlear 2025; Center for Hearing Access 2026).

For updates, read the archived original first. Add or change a value only when its model/style and meaning are supported; update its source id and feature date together. A newer document for another feature must not advance that feature's date. Keep source conflicts in notes until a model-specific source resolves them. An omitted device has no implied support status.

Set last_checked only after reviewing every cited record and original supporting that row, including qualifications; an unresolved value can still be checked. If an original is missing and cannot be obtained, retain the previous check date and explain the gap in the refresh report. Follow the reusable refresh-job template in docs/research-queue.md: preserve compiled, update updated and the change log, and raise the minor version for row edits or a check-only refresh, or the major version when columns change.
