Summary
User manual for the B-CASTER Auracast transmitter: broadcast modes, audio quality settings, transmit power and specifications.
Key findings
- Lists two hardware variants by maximum transmit power, B-CASTER-10 at 10 dBm and B-CASTER-20 at 20 dBm, with power adjustable in the management panel; it says users are solely responsible for meeting local regulations.
- Gives three quality settings: Low (16 kHz, 32 kbps) and Medium (24 kHz, 48 kbps), marked as supported by hearing aids and cochlear implants, and High (48 kHz, 96 kbps), marked as not supported by them.
- States latency under 40 ms and offers AGC, high-pass filters (80, 120 or 250 Hz) and low-pass filters (8, 12 or 16 kHz); the high-pass filter is not available at 48 kHz.
- In Extender mode a unit rebroadcasts a master unit's audio received over Ethernet, by default with the master's broadcast settings, which the manual says lets users move between broadcasters.
- At this firmware the second LAN port (with PoE out) is enabled only on CASTER-S licensed units, and dual-mono broadcast appears in the interface but is not yet active.
Limits
Manufacturer documentation for one firmware version. It gives no range, coverage or test data, and does not say which receiver the latency figure applies to.
