Summary
Williams AV's App Store listing for the WaveCAST app, through which listeners hear a WaveCAST venue's audio over Wi-Fi on their own iPhone or iPad.
Key findings
- Describes connecting to a WaveCAST-enabled Wi-Fi network at a venue and choosing a channel and volume in the app, for assistive listening at events, conferences and public spaces.
- Requires iOS 15.0 or later. Its privacy label, written by the developer and not verified by Apple, states "Data Not Collected".
- The version history records an update in May 2024 that let audio resume after interruptions from other apps, such as Siri, and fixed an issue where some users could not connect to the WaveCAST Wi-Fi network; updates from November 2024 claim reduced audio latency with Bluetooth devices, and version 2.11.0 fixed compatibility issues with certain WaveCAST servers and certain Bluetooth playback devices.
- A July 2022 update limited the app's operating-system compatibility to iOS 14 and 15 at that time, and earlier updates fixed problems that followed iOS 13 and iOS 14.
Limits
A developer's self-written listing, read on 9 October 2026; listings and privacy labels change with each release. The date is the release of version 2.11.0, the newest in the version history. The latency claims give no figures. The maker's network guide, dated 2024, still lists iOS 9.1 or newer and Android 6.0 or newer as the supported phones. User reviews on the listing were not used.
