  • The introduction, printed page 6, says voice alarm control and indicating equipment controls fire alarm signals and voice messages and may be separate from, or combined with, fire alarm control equipment.
  • The introduction says components of the voice alarm control equipment are tested as part of the whole equipment, rather than as separate parts under this standard. It distinguishes mandatory functions from optional functions with associated requirements.
  • The foreword identifies EN 54-4 as the part on power supply equipment and EN 54-24 as the part on voice alarm loudspeakers.
  • The contents lists a fault warning condition, integrity of transmission paths, audio performance, software monitoring and environmental tests. Redundant power amplifiers are listed as an option with requirements.

Limits
