Summary

The product brand guide links Auracast trademark use to qualification for a Public Broadcast Profile role and adds Standard Quality transmission requirements.

Key findings

  • Page 17 permits licensed Auracast trademark use for products that completed qualification and indicated in their submission that they implement and meet the requirements for the Public Broadcast Source, Public Broadcast Sink or Public Broadcast Assistant role.
  • A product implementing the source role must let its end user configure a Standard Quality Public Broadcast Audio stream within an Auracast broadcast.
  • For a source-role product marketed for public locations, Standard Quality must be the default when it is configured to transmit an Auracast broadcast. Examples include public address systems, assistive listening systems and commercial televisions.
  • The page 17 footnote requires public locations marketing availability under the Auracast marks to provide a Standard Quality stream for every item of audio content they provide through Auracast.
  • Page 17 describes permitted uses on products, packaging and promotional materials; it supplies no coverage, latency or acoustic output measurement for an installation.

Limits
