Summary
Counter-loop driver instructions explaining coil geometry, metal effects, cable protection and checks at the listening position.
Key findings
- Says the counter kit is preset for desks with little or no metal; substantial metal framing or cladding may require a more powerful amplifier or a loop in the floor or ceiling in front of the counter (page 2).
- For its supplied coil, recommends a position approximately 250 mm behind the front desk edge, with the top 900-1000 mm above the floor, installed vertically or with up to half folded away from the customer. The instructions address seated and standing listeners (page 3).
- Places the driver and cables where they are protected against damage, snagging and accidental disconnection (pages 3 and 5).
- Requires a performance check with a loop receiver or field-strength meter after setup, adjusting metal-loss correction and loop current. Says not to readjust loop current once set (page 3).
- Explains that a lit loop-current indicator can coexist with no received field because of wrong loop placement or a shorted feed cable; a weak or dull signal can result from metal near the loop (page 6).
Limits
Manufacturer instructions for one driver and coil, without an independent test or listener sample. The handbook revision is UP15701-18. The declaration on page 8 is dated March 2022, but the handbook has no separate publication date; the URL directory is not treated as its date.
